Signs deal with San Fran
Gerry (ankle) signed a one-year, $1.12 million deal with the 49ers on Saturday, Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledgerreports.
Analysis: Consider this signing a move to solidify the 49ers' depth as Gerry isn't expected to be a critical factor in the team's linebacker rotation. Despite playing in just seven games, Gerry nearly set a career high in tackles with 57 in 2020, but he was often picked on by opposing passing attacks.

Finishes with 57 stops
Gerry (ankle) notched 57 tackles (32 solo) one sack and two defensed passes across seven games in 2020.
Analysis: Gerry failed to suit up for at least double-digit games for the first time in his career in 2020, but he nonetheless finished with his second-highest tackle total before injuring his ankle. The soon-to-be 26-year-old is scheduled to become a restricted free agent this offseason, so it remains to be seen whether he'll be back with Philadelphia.

Placed on IR
Gerry (ankle) was placed on IR on Friday.
Analysis: Gerry's placement on IR means he'll have to miss at least the next three weeks, so the earliest he could return will be Week 11 against the Browns. With Gerry on the mend, Davion Taylor is poised to slide into a starting outside linebacker role.

Nursing ankle injury
Gerry was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury.
Analysis: The 25-year-old had eight tackles and his first sack of the season during Thursday's win over the Giants, but he apparently sustained the ankle injury during the contest. Gerry likely needs to practice in some capacity the next couple days to have a chance of suiting up Week 8.

Grabs first sack of season
Gerry notched eight tackles (four solo), one sack and one quarterback hit during Thursday's 22-21 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Gerry now has an outstanding 54 tackles through seven games, making him an every-week option in IDP formats, especially if he can continue building momentum as a pass rusher. His 92 percent of defensive snaps were a season-low mark, but Gerry continues to handle nearly an every-down role.

Paces team in tackles
Gerry made nine tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis: Gerry tied Alex Singleton for the team lead in tackles, as he's recorded at least seven stops in each of the first six games, totaling 49 so far. The Nebraska product plays nearly every snap on Philadelphia's defense, and with the tackle count staying high, Gerry should be confidently deployed in IDP settings moving forward.

Registers seven tackles in loss
Gerry collected four solo tackles and three assists during Sunday's 38-29 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: The 25-year-old safety has been a near every-down contributor for Philadelphia's defense this season, fielding at least 97 percent of the defensive workload in each of his five outings. Gerry has been impactful with his opportunities as well, already having accumulated 40 tackles after registering 78 in 16 appearances (including 12 starts) for the Eagles last season.

Seven tackles Sunday
Gerry recorded seven tackles (three solo) across 69 defensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Rams.
Analysis: Gerry was second on the team in tackles Sunday, as he now has 17 tackles (eight solo) on the season. He also continues to dominate the snap count among linebackers in Philly, playing in 99 percent of the defensive snaps this season.

Leads team in tackles
Gerry racked up 10 tackles in Sunday's 27-17 loss to Washington.
Analysis: Gerry was the only double-digit tackler on the day for Philadelphia and also made two tackles for loss. The total was just one shy of his career high. If the 25-year-old keeps it up in Week 2 against the Rams, his IDP value will surge.

Activated from COVID-19 list
Gerry has been activated from the Eagles' reserve/COVID-19 list, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
Analysis: With Nigel Bradham now with the Saints, look for Gerry to handle the team's defensive play-calling duties. The 25-year-old recorded 78 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 16 games (including 12 starts) last season. With a full-time starting gig on tap in 2020, Gerry could see enough of an uptick in production to merit consideration in IDP formats.

On COVID-19 list
The Eagles placed Gerry on their reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
Analysis: Gerry was one of three Philadelphia players added to the list. His placement doesn't necessarily indicate that he has COVID-19, as Gerry may just have been in close contact with an infected person or persons. When healthy and available, Gerry is expected to serve as a starting outside linebacker for Philadelphia.

On track for key role
Gerry could handle defensive signal-calling duties for the Eagles in 2020, Paul Domowitch of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Gerry is the only remaining option in Philadelphia's linebacker corps who handled more than 305 defensive snaps (630) last season, per Domowitch, with Nigel Bradham having been released in February. The converted safety compiled 78 tackles in 2019 while suiting up for all 16 games despite battling a core muscle injury, an issue from which he's now fully recovered. Now heading into the fourth year of his NFL career, the 2017 fifth-round pick could be in line to step up his responsibilities on…read more

Undergoes surgery
Gerry underwent core muscle surgery this week, John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: The 24-year-old apparently sustained the injury during camp, but he opted to play through it since he had a chance to seize a significant defensive role in 2019. Gerry ended up finishing the season playing in all 16 games (12 starts) with 78 tackles (52 solo), 2.5 sacks, two interceptions and one touchdown.

Fills up box score in loss
Gerry recorded six tackles (one solo), half a sack, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery in Sunday's 17-9 loss to Seattle.
Analysis: Since securing a starting role in Week 6, Gerry has at least five tackles in every game. He's also picked up his 2.5 sacks on the year in his last four efforts. More big-play potential lies ahead for the 24-year-old in Week 13's matchup with the Dolphins.

Paces team in tackles in loss
Gerry registered 10 tackles (seven solo) and a sack in Sunday's 17-10 loss to New England.
Analysis: Gerry took Tom Brady down for the Eagles' only sack of the game late in the third quarter. The 24-year-old played all but one snap en route to his second-best tackle total of the season. He's recorded 38 tackles over his last five games and sacks in two of his last three.
